May Notice

NEXT MEETING is this Monday 21st May 2012
7.30pm for 7.45pm prompt start

No Speaker: as this is our Annual Meeting
Recycled Theme: Seeds/Plants
Hostesses: Gillian Barry, Merle Bishop, Karin Bucannan, Marion Campbell

Competition: Jubilee – see just how creative or cryptic you can be
(the year’s overall winner will be announced and awarded the competition plate)

Diary date for next gardening workforce. I am hoping to collect bark chippings for
the hall garden on Saturday 26th May. Help unloading/spreading under the ‘WI
tree’, would be much appreciated. I will confirm times nearer the date. Help with
weeding around the car park area would be marvellous prior to the Fayre; it would
make a great difference as the morris and clog dancers are likely to be performing
there throughout the day. Maybe that could be done whilst I’m en route with the
chippings? Please let me know if you are available.

Hopefully you will have seen posters around the village advertising the Jubilee
Fayre, and a banner is going on the railings along New Road tomorrow. Lucky
programmes are now available detailing the day’s activities and timings, priced at
£1 with an opportunity to win £200 if you complete and hand in the lucky slip. Draw
tickets are also on sale with a top prize of £500 plus many more. These will be
available at Monday’s meeting ….. so please bring your purses!

Although Monday is the annual meeting, I hope you are able to come along. We will
try to keep the business as light as possible and hope to inject a little amusement
(but no games this time!).

Best wishes
Kim
